  10. Emotional issues.
  1. Feeling like a victim of one;s circumstances. Blaming others as to why one;s life is not working is a definet sign of low self esteem.

When we feel like a victim, one of the signs of low self esteem, and blaming others, we are giving our power away. To keep our power we must take responsibility for everything in our life. See self esteem exercises.

  2. Low energy. Don;t feel like doing anything. Mild depression.

When we have low energy and don;t feel like doing anything and even feel mildly depressed, it can be hard to get out of. Mild exercise such as going for a walk in nature can do wonders to uplift our mood and spirit.

  3) Isolation. Not wanting to socialize.

Choosing to isolate oneself and refusing to socialize means we are not worthy of support. This thought must be changed by using affirmations to see that we are worthy of support. For example: I Dave deserve to be with friends and family who love and support me. See self esteem affirmations.

4). Doing what you don,t want to do for work.

A sign of low self esteem is not doing what you want to do for  work. It can take courage and persistence to find work you enjoy doing and the rewards are worth the effort.

5). Feeling not good enough most of the time.

When we feel not good enough the only way to change that feeling is by using affirmations. For example: I Dave now feel good enough about myself and my life. See self esteem affirmations.

  6). Perfectionism

Perfectionism puts enormous pressure on ourselves to do things perfectly with a deep seated fear of making a mistake thinking this means something bad about us. We need to see it,s okay to make mistakes. That it;s part of being a human being to make mistakes and that it doesn,t mean anything about us if and when we make a mistake.

  7). Self hatred.

Self hatred just means we have a thought that we hate ourselves. When we hate ourselves nothing in our lives seems to work. We can change this by using affirmations. For example: I Dave love, accept and approve of myself. See self esteem affirmations.

  8). Pessimism

Pessimism is feeling negative about everything. There is an unspoken expectation that nothing is going to work out. Again, using affirmations helps to change this mindset into a positive one. For example: I Dave feel good about myself and my life. See self esteem affirmations.

  9). Addiction issues

Addiction issues can be mild to severe, from being addicted to work to being addicted to heroin. Participating in a 12 step program can do wonders for one;s self esteem. Recognizing that one has an addiction issue such as to cigarettes is the first part of the process. Seeking help is the next step.

  10). Emotional issues

Emotional issues can also be mild to severe and may require the services of a good therapist to deal with the issues.

The signs of low self esteem are the 1st step in recognizing what needs to be done to improve one;s self esteem.
