How to improve self esteem? What can we do that will make a difference to our self esteem? What can we do to boost our self esteem? Two words, just two words.
Take responsibility. We often think of taking responsibility when we do something wrong. We admit it to ourselves and others if they are involved. We admit our mistake, apologize and take whatever action if necessary.
However, we seldom take responsibility for everything in our lives. For example, our thoughts, feelings, opinions, judgements of ourselves and others, our money, our relationships, our health, our career or jobs.
Taking responsibility for actions or events that we’ve made mistakes is a start. This will temporarily increase our self esteem. Taking responsibility for our entire lives will greatly increase self esteem.
We feel better about ourselves when we are being responsible. Feeling better about oneself directly ties in to improving self esteem. Have you ever felt good being irresponsible? Maybe a little wild and crazy but never genuinely feeling good.
We stop giving our personal power away. We stop being a victim of our circumstances. We stop playing the blame game.
When we take responsibility for our life, we keep our personal power and use it lovingly and wisely in the service of what we really want. We are now the creator of our circumstances. We also take ownership of our lives realizing it’s us, there is no one and no thing making us think what we think, feel what we feel and do what we do. It’s all us.
When we really own the saying “If it is to be, it’s up to me”, what we are really saying is that we are ultimately responsible for the results of our life.
How to improve self esteem? Keep our personal power and use it in the creation of what we really want. Personal power is given away to external people, places and things when we blame or project our unhappiness on others. Our power is given away to our victim consciousness.
As soon as we take responsibility we retain our personal power. With this personal power which is the same thing as having choice in the matter, we can now actively create what we truly want in our lives.
How can we create our lives when we don’t take any responsibility for our life and give our personal power away? How can we create our lives when we feel we don’t have any choice? We can’t. It’s as simple as that.
This is a profound truth. To the degree we feel like a victim of our circumstances is the degree of our unhappiness, poor health and poor success.
The opposite of course is also true. To the degree we take responsibility for our lives is the degree of our happiness, health and success.
We are in charge of our lives. No one and nothing else is.
How to improve self esteem? Two words, just two words. Take responsibility!!
